After leaving Moorea, we enjoyed a lovely week at Taha'a Island and a few days on Bora Bora. It was a busy time where we changed crew, reunited with other WorldARC participants and prepped the boat for the next offshore leg. We didn't have much time to write up anything about our time. Now we are onto Niue (maybe), then Tonga. We will share more stories about our last weeks in French Polynesia in a future blog -- when we have time to catch up.

Meanwhile, we are now located about 400 nm from French Polynesia and 600 nm to Niue, but the weather has changed since our departure 3 days ago. So, we are likely going to have to go a bit further north than planned, skip Niue and route straight to Tonga (an additional ~300 nm) to let a low pressure system pass to the South.
On this leg the ARC boats have been sharing lots of information on the weather & routing. It has been great to compare notes with them. We've also hired a weather router to assist us in optimizing between avoiding bad weather and having enough wind to sail. Going to Tonga will lengthen our trip by a few days but it is part of the process out here. Sometimes the weather doesn't do exactly what you'd like it to. Today, we took advantage of the calm weather to stop the boat and cool off in the ocean with a swim.

So until next week, we'll sign off. We will include more pictures when we are once again land based, likely from Tonga. Onward!

Your pictures show a wide range of amazing blues. Oh, the places you have been, the places you will go. Question: Are people the same all over this vast world? Sail on . . .
